• Bath County crash

BATH COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) – An investigation is underway into a crash involving a tanker truck on Interstate 64 in Bath County.

The crash happened around 4:30 p.m. Thursday around mile marker 119.

Emergency crews say the driver of a Durango, heading west, lost control while crossing a bridge.

They say the Durango crossed the median and hit a tanker truck, which was traveling in the eastbound lanes.

Police say the driver of the Durango was thrown from the vehicle, and suffered life-threatening injuries. He was taken to UK Hospital.

For hours, both lanes of eastbound I-64 were closed. One lane has since been reopened to traffic.
